Christopher Reid is a South African national who graduated from The University of Alabama in 2018. While at Alabama, Christopher represented South Africa and Alabama at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Having pursued a life of success in swimming, Christopher’s identity was found in swimming. It was after the 2016 Olympics Games that Christopher was in search to find his true identity and purpose in this world. It was in June 2018 that Christopher surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and trusted Him for salvation.
While at Alabama, Christopher started FCA International to minister to international student-athletes, which many of whom are struggling with the same performance-based identity from their sport that Christopher struggled with for years.
Now based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Christopher is still competing on the international swimming circuit, using his sport as a common language to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all unreached people groups.
